Louisville 6, Canton South 1

Rachel Baughman scored a Hat Trick in a first half that saw the Louisville Lady Leopards take a 5-0 lead over the Canton South Lady Wildcats.  Louisville cruised after that and won the game 6-1 at Brechbuhler Stadium Wednesday Evening.  The win also tied the school record for most wins in a season at 10.

The Lady Leps got on the board first when Sami Keefe pushed forward a pass to Baughman.  Baughman got control of the touch, dribbled to the right of a defender, and angled the ball back left into the net for the first goal of the contest.

The Leopards second goal came off a throw in by Devin Kring.  Her pass was to a wide open Baughman who dribbled into the right corner.  Then she crossed a pass back over in front of the net for Sarah Jaroszyk who tapped it home for the score.

Louisville then added three goals in a span of 6:20.  The first came off the foot of Lizz Stefanik Beatty's Sports Fall Sports Adafter some brillant footwork by the Junior Forward.  The goal was set up by an assist from Kring and also a nice pass from midfield to the right corner by Keefe.  Keefe also set up the next goal by Baughman on a lead pass from midfield.  Baughman got control of the pass, crossed over a defender, and blasted it into the net for the score.  Baughman would complete her Hat Trick performance 2:02 later after the charging South goalie left the net open for an easy tap in.  The goal was set up by Kayla Shankel’s assist.

In the second half, many of the starters were rotated in and out as the clock ticked away.  Keefe delivered another great lead pass that ended with a Kring score with 28:40 left in the contest.  Canton South also got on the board late to finalize the score at 6-1.

Louisville defender Kelly Miller eliminated several Wildcat threats with great defense along with Tara Stevens and a host of others.  The Lady Leopards are now 10-1 overall after winning their ninth straight match.  They will host Kent Roosevelt Monday in hopes of their school record 11th win before traveling to Minerva Wednesday in a game that should decide the NBC.
