Lady Leopards Suffer 1st Home NBC Loss Since 2011

The Louisville Lady Leopards fell to the visiting West Branch Warriors 52-31 Saturday afternoon. The loss was their first NBC loss at home since 2011. Louisville is now 4-9 overall and 4-4 in conference play this year.
Melinda Trimmer scored a game-high 20 points and Pavin Heath also poured in 16 to lead the Warriors. West Branch took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
The Lady Leopards were led by Rachel Zeller who scored a team-high 9 points. Freshman Brooke Layton and Sarah Lairson also added 7 each.
With the loss, West Branch now leads the all-time series 34-19 which includes a 14-13 record at Louisville. The victory is the Lady Warriors first at Louisville since they won 63-48 on January 31, 2009. West Branch has now taken the last three meetings overall.
The loss is the Lady Leopards first NBC loss at home since January 26, 2011 when they fell to Minerva 45-41. Louisville had won 20 straight conference home games coming into this game.

Alexa Oberster led the Leopards with a team high 11 points, while both Kennedy Brown and Emily Shea each scored 6.
The Warriors were led by Catie Hahn who scored a game-high 17 points. Vernice Ormiston and Courtney Papic each added 7 for West Branch as well.
