Lady Leopards Storm Past Hoban, Copley, Hoover to Move to 3-0

Louisville 47, Hoover 17

Grace Jackson scored 16 points and Emily Hollifield added 11 as the Louisville took apart North Canton 47-17 in their home opener at Louisville Elementary School Thursday.

Beatty's Winter HoodiesThe Leopards limited the Vikings to just two field goals in the first half as Louisville led 16-2 after the first and 29-4 at halftime.  In the second half, Louisville outscored Hoover 18-13 to seal the deal.

Jackson and Hollifield were key roleplayers in many of the turnovers generated by the now 3-0 Leps.  North Canton did not make a single free throw in the contest either.

North Canton was led by Kayla Kopp who tallied 5 points.

At Copley, Grace Jackson scored 12 points and Madison Fomich added 10 to lead the Lady Leopards in scoring and to a 51-10 victory.

The Leps completely shutout the Indians in the first quarter and the Tribe only scored a single field goal in the second half.  Louisville forced 25 Copley turnovers and were only charged with 5 fouls for the entire game.

Tessa Joseph also scored 9 points and dished out 6 assists to aid the Leopard attack.  Sabryna Benzel also scored 7 points and Tayte Wright led the team with 6 rebounds.

Copley was led Kayla Sanders who scored 6 points.

At Akron, Madison Fomich poured in 13 points and Tessa Joseph added 9 points to lead Louisville to a single-digit 35-26 win over Akron Hoban.

The Leopard defense held the Knights to just 4 points in both the opening and closing quarters.

Louisville won the game despite shooting just 40% (10 of 25) from the charity stride.  Joseph also hit a three-pointer for Louisville and Emily Hollifield tallied 7.

Akron Hoban was led by Biscan’s 12 points.
