Louisville 5, Central Catholic 0

The Louisville Lady Leopards downed the visiting Canton Central Catholic Crusaders 5-0 in their Beatty's Sports Leopard Skin Grey Hoodiescrimmage opener Tuesday. The scrimmage consisted of four 20-minute quarters and was played without a referee.

Lizzy Mont scored two goals to lead Louisville including the opening score of the contest in the first period of play. Sami Keefe provided the assist on the play with a lead pass that found the foot of the speedy Mont.

The scored remained 1-0 at halftime and the two squads switched sides. Rachel Baughman scored the second goal after intercepting the Crusaders goal kick. She blasted it off the goalie and into the top right corner of the net to put the Leopards ahead 2-nil. Not long after, Mont added her second goal from a pass by Madison Novosel.

In the fourth quarter, Louisville added a pair of goals. The first came from Abby Baughman, who has no known relation to Hannah Baughman (the sister of Rachel Baughman) who provided the assist via a corner kick. Abby Baughman shot left to right off a Central player and into the net. The final goal of the game was scored by Lindsey Bradley to make the final 5-0.

On defense, Allie Bourne and Celia Keefe combined for a shutout in goal. Equally instrumental in keeping the Crusaders at bay was the defensive effort of Sydnee Shankel who time and time again answered the call near the goal.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers in a scrimmage on Wednesday, August 6 at 7:00 PM.
