Lady Leopards Soar to Win Against Aviators

Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball 2016-17

Louisville 57, Alliance 24

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team earned a 57-24 road victory over the Alliance Beatty's Blue Louisville Leopards HoodieAviators Wednesday Night at Harry Fails Gymnasium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the NBC.

Abby Beaver led the Leopards with a game-high 19 points and a game-high 5 assists. Erin Hahn also scored 9 points and Sarah Lairson scored 7 points.

Louisville stormed out to an 18-6 lead after one, a 34-10 by halftime, and pulled ahead 55-17 at the end of three. Alliance won the final quarter 7-2, but the outcome was never in doubt.

The Lady Leopards defense forced 17 steals and held the Lady Aviators to a 31% (9 of 29) shooting performance from the field. Ellie Jackson finished with a team-high 6 steals and Lairson also tallied 4. Rachel Israel also finished with a team-high 5 rebounds for Louisville.

Alliance was led by Morgan Davis and Zaire Dixon who each scored a team-high 8 points. Dixon also led the team in rebounds with 7 and both Raelynn Thomas and Char’metria Threats pulled down 6 boards each.

The Leopards have now defeated the Aviators in 16 straight meetings overall and their last 17 contests played at Alliance. Louisville now leads the all-time series 39-8, which includes a 20-3 mark at AHS.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Marlington Dukes on Saturday, December 17. JV begins at 12:00 PM and Varsity follows around 1:30 PM.

The Lady Leopards JV Team held the Aviators to single digits during their 49-8 victory. With the win, Louisville improves to 4-2 overall and 2-1 against NBC foes.

Kayla Gibson outscored Alliance with a game-high 12 points to lead the Leopards. Jenna Agnone and Maggie Galentine also scored 6 a piece for Louisville.

The Leopards held the Aviators scoreless during the first quarter in taking a 12-0 lead. Louisville’s defense also held Alliance to no field goals during the final period.

The Lady Aviators were led by Jazzman Lawson who scored a team-high 4 and Marissa Nickson who hit a three-pointer in the third.
