The Louisville Lady Leopards took command early and then cruised to a 61-46 victory over host Salem at John A. Cabas Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. With the victory Louisville is now 1-2 overall and 1-0 in NBC play.

The Lady Leopards hit 4 of their 5 three-pointers in the first half in which they took a 35-15 advantage. Beatty's NBC Shirts Back copyHollyann Mullett hit two of those three-pointers and led Louisville with 10 of her team-high 17 points in the opening half. Emily Nees ended the contest with 15 points which included nailing all 7 of her free throw attempts. Rachel Zeller also hit a three-pointer in each of the first two quarters and finished the game with 13.

Rounding out the scoring for Louisville were Sabryna with 8, Abby Beaver with 7, and Taylor Noble with 1. With the victory, the Leopards are now 8-5 against the Quakers all-time including a 4-3 record at Salem. Louisville has now won the last seven meetings in the series overall dating back to 1985.

Alexa Oberster led the Lady Leopards with 18 points, but Louisville still fell to Salem 49-29 in the JV Contest. Oberster hit 2 three-pointers and made 8 of 14 free throws.

The Quakers doubled up the Leopards in field goals 16-8 as Louisville fell to 0-3.
