Lady Leopards Offense Explodes During 73-45 Victory

After trailing by ten at the end of one, Louisville used a 26-2 run to pull ahead before cruising to a 73-45 victory. During their stretch run they shutout Minerva for a span of 12 minutes. With the victory, the Lady Leopards are now 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the NBC.

Louisville had four players reach double digits. They were led by Emily Nees who scored a game-high Beatty's NBC Shirts copy16 points, had 7 steals, and dished out 4 assists.. Abby Beaver also hit 3 three-pointers in scoring 12 points to go along with a game-high 7 assists. Rachel Zeller also added 11, Hollyann Mullett poured in 10, and Sabryna Benzel scored 9.

Their 73 points scored is the most by a Lady Leopard team at home since December 5, 2009 when Louisville defeated Minerva 75-64. The Lady Leps shot 53% from the field and 100% from the free throw line to aid their offensive explosion.

The Lions were led by Morgan Preston who made 4 three-pointers and scored a team-high 14 points. Shania Miller also scored 9 and Josie Chaddock added 8. Minerva is now 4-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

With the victory, the Leopards now lead the all-time series over the Lions 37-18 which includes a 20-7 record at home. Louisville has taken the last 5 meetings from Minerva overall.

Louisville outscored Minerva 12-2 in the final quarter, but their rally came up just short as the Lions prevailed 30-27. With the loss, the Leopards are now 1-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Alexa Oberster canned 2 three-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points to lead Louisville. Emily Shea and Gabby Speher also added 3 points each.
