The Quakers marched to midfield on their next possession, but the Leopards Austin Kinsey dropped the http://www.facebook.com/JenniferLBolyard/Salem Quarterback in the backfield on 4th-and-2  to end their drive. Louisville went three-and-out on their next possession and punted back to Salem. The Quakers drove across midfield, but were set back by a penalty and a sack by Leopards Defensive Back Blake Davis.

On the next play, Kinsley brooke loose again putting pressure on the Salem Quarterback. The hurried throw landed in the hands of Defensive Back Dillon Rebuck who returned the interception 55 yards for the Louisville touchdown. Sophomore Linemen Spencer Hall and Jacob Urick paved the way for Walczak who scored the conversion run to make it 14-0 Leopards.

Rebuck and Walczak also helped force a turnover on the Quakers next possession. They each began wrapping up the Salem ball carrier as Quintin Scheetz delivered a huge hit to pop the ball free. Leopards Defensive Back Ezekiel Changet fell on it at the Louisville 28.

One play later, Quarterback Trent Degenhard hit Rebuck on a bubble screen that went for 64 yards. Degenhard then hit Dominic Mongiardo who weaved his way for an 8 yard touchdown reception on the following play. Degenhard also ran in the conversion on a play action keeper to put the Leopards on top 22-0 with 30 ticks left in the second quarter. The half ended when Scheetz picked off a Quaker pass at the Louisville 19.

The Leopards defense set the tone early on in the second half. Salem’s opening drive started with Louisville Defensive Lineman Hall making two tackles for a loss. Then Leopards Defensive End Austin Cummings recorded a sack on the next play forcing a Quaker punt.

Salem would have gone three-and-out again, but stunned everyone at Louisville Leopards Stadium by converting on a fake punt. Niko Walters hit a wide open Josh Lehwald for a 23 yard gain on the play. The same combination converted on a 4th-and-2 to move across midfield in the next series of plays. Three plays later, Runningback Eli Rothwell scored from 5 yards out to cut the Louisville lead to 22-6.

The Leopards went to the ground on 8 of their 9 plays on the following drive. Runningback Logan Banta ran to his left for a 4 yard touchdown run to answer the Quakers score.

Louisville Kicker Marc Joseph hit a perfect onside kick after that. Like a richochet in game of pool, the ball deflected off a Salem player and angled to the left past another Quaker. Rebuck recovered the kick on the Salem 43 giving the ball back to the Leopards.

This time Louisville ran the ball every time on their 9 play scoring drive. Conner Birone finished the drive by taking a pitch to paydirt on a 4th-and-Goal play from the Quaker 3. The score put the Leopards ahead 34-6 with 6:44 left to play in the fourth quarter.

Salem followed that with one more scoring drive of their own. Walters found a hole and sprinted down the left sideline for a 52 yard gain to setup the Quakers on the Leopards 12. He then rolled out for a 1 yard score four plays later and Rothwell scored the conversion run to finalize the scored at 34-14..
