Jones, Storlie, Brown, & Libertore Each Score 10+ in Win at South

Louisville 65, Canton South 44

The Louisville Lady Leopards girls basketball team crushed the Canton South Wildcats Saturday afternoon 65-44.  Four Lady Leps put up double digit point totals to help Louisville remain a perfect 11-0 on the season.  Mackenzie Storlie and Alyssa Jones each dropped in 14, Molly Brown poured in 12, and Brianna Libertore added 10.

Canton South hung with Louisville for the first ten minutes of the game to stay within 17-14.  But, the Leopards quick hands on defense turned the close game into a route within minutes.  First, Jones intercepted a Wildcat bounce pass and took it all the way in for the score.  Next, Brown picked off a chest past and lobbed it to Storlie who drove to the rack that earned her a trip to the charity stride.  A little later Storlie picked the pocket of Kati Schnider and laid it around the rim and in, while also drawing a foul.

All of the sudden, the Lady Leps had built a double-digit lead at 29-17.  The Wildcats answered with a 6-0 run before Louisville Head Coach Garee McCully called a timeout.  The Lady Leps responded with a 6-0 run of their own to end the half at 35-23.

The Leopards continued to dominate coming out of the locker room.  Jones set the tone for the second half with a huge swat on defense and then on the other end banking home a layup, while drawing a foul.  The Lady Leps continued to get takeaways on defense and pulled out to a 47-30 lead at the end of three.

In the fourth quarter things got physical, but the Lady Leps still cruised.  Louisville pulled their starters midway through the period and shot 8 of 11 from the free throw line to close out the deal.
