Hahn Hits Game-Winner for JV, Varsity Falls At South

Canton South 52, Louisville 38

The Louisville Leopards fell to the host Canton South Wildcats 52-38 Friday Evening at Charles “Red” Ash Gymnasium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 9-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference.

The Wildcats outscored the Leopards in the first three quarters, but Louisville never gave up as they Beatty's Sports Leopard Hoodiewon the fourth quarter 19-5. Blake Hoover led the Leopards with 10 points and Jake Pukys scored all 8 of his points in the final period. Louisville buried all 5 of their three-pointers in the final eight minutes. Bryce Mathie also added 6 for the Leps.

Canton South led 30-14 at halftime and built a 47-19 lead after three. The Wildcats hit 6 three-pointers in the contest which included 4 from the game’s leading scorer Gunnar Tharp who finished with 14. Matt Nicoletti also scored 10 for South and both Mark Campbell & Kole Ickes added 6.

The Wildcats now lead the all-time series 94-45.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Minerva to take on the Lions on Friday, January 31.

Brody Hahn scored a game-high 13 points including the game-winning three-pointer with 2.4 seconds remaining to lift Louisville past Canton South 38-37. The Leopards JV Squad is now 9-6 overall and 8-1 against NBC foes this season.

The Wildcats controlled the first half of the contest in building a 12-6 lead after one and going into the break up 20-16. The turning point in the game came at the start of the third quarter when the Leopards used an 11-0 run to take a 27-20 advantage.

South rallied back in the fourth quarter before Hahn delivered the final blow in the form of his third three-pointer of the evening. Jake Mathie also scored 7 and Brock Haren added 5 for Louisville

Canton South was led by Miles with 10, Lexington with 8, and Mottice with 7.
