Louisville Falls to GlenOak After Wild Ending – Boys Soccer
GlenOak 3, Louisville 1
The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer team fell to the visiting GlenOak Golden Eagles 3-1 in their season opener at Louisville Leopards Stadium Thursday Night.
The Leopards made things interesting down the stretch. Senior Bradley Terra booted the 10th and final Louisville corner kick with only a few minutes left on the clock. The ball deflected off a player or two before setting up nicely about 8 yards out from the goal in the center of the penalty box. Freshman Riley Adams was there to bang it home with 2:51 to go in the contest.

The Leopards continued to attack in the final minutes before Golden Eagle Senior Wesley Burton broke free off a long thrown in by fellow Senior Zac Kerr. A pair of deflections took a GlenOak bounce. Burton steamed ahead for his second goal of contest and ice the game with 32 ticks remaining. Burton also recorded an assist when the Eagles Kameron Davis netted an earlier score.
GlenOak held a 9-8 advantage in shots, but Louisville owned corner kicks 10-4. Golden Eagles Goalie Ryan Riccillo finished with a game-high 7 saves. GlenOak is now 1-2 on the season.
The two squads have met in the regular season for the past 15 consecutive years. GlenOak leads the all-time series 13-0-2, which includes a 7-0-1 record at Louisville. The Golden Eagles had outscored the Leopards 27-0 in their past six meetings before the late goal broke their streak of shutouts.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Akron Firestone Falcons on Saturday, August 26. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
