Girls Tennis Clinches NBC Outright with Win Over Dukes
Louisville 3, Marlington 2
The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Tennis team clinched the NBC outright for the second straight year Thursday with a 3-2 victory over the Marlington Dukes. The Leopards are now 7-0 in the NBC and 11-1 overall, while the Dukes fall to 4-2 in the conference.
Singles winners included the Leopards Hannah Lemmon defeating Anna Aufrance 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 and the Leopards Gretchen Groves defeating Stephanie Buzaki 6-1, 6-0. The Louisville doubles team of Ciara Antonacci and Alexis Isla defeated Molly Hoover and Desiree Erchick 6-0, 6-0.
The championship marks the Lady Leopards 6th NBC Title and 13th League Title overall. Louisville just has to defeat Alliance for a chance to go undefeated in the league for the second straight season.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leps will compete in the Jackson Invitational on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 AM at Jackson High School.
