Girls take 2nd, Boys 4th at NBC Track Meet

Hailey Miller Louisville Leopards Track Relay 2016

The Louisville Leopards Boys & Girls Track Teams competed at the Northeastern Buckeye Conference Meet Friday at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance. The Boys finished with 94 team points to place 4th and the Girls finished with 104 team points to place 2nd.

Boys: Louisville 94 (4th Out of 8)

The Boys were led by Nick Chaplik who won the 800 Meter Run, took second in the 3200 Meter Run, and was also part of the 4×800 Relay team that placed first. Other members of that relay team included Zach Fresenko, Noah Chaplik, and Noah Murray.

The Leopards also had two other event winners. Noah Murray came in first in the 3200 Meter Run and Rahzul Young won the Shot Put to lead Louisville in Field events.

Other top finishers included Noah Chaplik taking second place in both the 800 Meter Run & 1600 Meter run, Terry Gooch finishing second in the Discus, and Zach Fresenko placing third in the 1600 Meter Run.

Salem won the meet with a team score of 122 to claim the NBC Outright. The Leopards handed the Quakers their only loss of the season back on May 3 by the final of 79-49. Salem has now won the NBC in 3 of the past 5 seasons.

NBC Track & Field Meet 2016 – Full Results

Girls: Louisville 105 (2nd Out of 8)

The Girls won two events and had top three finishes in 10 different events. Devin Kring won the 300 Meter Hurdles and was also part of the first place 4×200 Meter Relay team. That team also included Adrianna Beaver, Hailey Miller, and Alexis Shearer.

Two other Lady Leopard relay teams also claimed second place. They included the 4×100 Meter Relay Beatty's Louisville Leopards Track & Field T-Shirt 2016Team (Heather Guiley, Alexis Shearer, Ashlee Beaver, Adrianna Beaver) and the 4×400 Meter Relay Team (Alexis Shearer, Brynn Guist, Hailey Miller, Devin Kring).

Individually, Haley Kiko finished in second place for the Long Jump. Third place individual finishes included Adrianna Beaver in the 100 Meter Dash, Morgan Cole in the 1600 Meter Run, Brynn Guist in the 100 Meter Hurdles, and Hailey Milleri n both the 400 Meter Dash & High Jump.

Carrollton capped off a perfect 7-0 run through the regular season by winning the NBC Meet with a score of 126.5. The NBC Title is the Lady Warriors first since 1999.
