Girls Soccer Thumps Canton McKinley 7-1

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer team defeated the visiting Canton McKinley Bulldogs 7-1 in a rare Thursday Night game at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the win, Louisville is now 2-3 on the year.
Six different Lady Leopards scored during the contest led by Deana Ross who found the net twice. Louisville out-shot Canton McKinley 25-6 for the game and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Leopards scored 5 goals in a span of 15:01 to pull ahead near the end of the first half. A Hannah Baughman pass allowed Devin Kring to break free to break the ice with 22:21 left before halftime. Brianna Horton pushed a pass across the box to Megan Chatelain who netted home her second goal in as many nights.
After that Lindsey Bradley, Selah Brown, and Ross each scored their first goals of the season to give Louisville a 5-0 lead at the break. The Leopards played keep away for most of the second half, but still managed to add two goals to their score. Baughman setup Ross for her second goal of the game. Amanda Beck also scored via an assist from Madison Novosel.
Louisville has now defeated Canton McKinley in 8 straight meetings and leads the all-time series 9-1-1. This is also the first time the Lady Leopards have won on back-to-back calendar days since 2005.
