Girls Soccer Falls to St. Vincent-St. Mary in Preseason Opener

St. Vincent-St. Mary 3, Louisville 1

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Soccer team fell to the visiting St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish 3-1 in the preseason opener Monday Evening. The two squads scrimmaged four quarters of 20 minutes each under the lights of Louisville Leopards Stadium.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Irish got on the board with a goal to take a 1-0 halftime lead. The Leopards scored next in the third quarter when Lizzy Mont found the net to tie the game at 1-1.

St. Vincent-St. Mary scored the final two goals of the contest in each of the last two quarters to take the match.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next hit the road to take on the Notre Dame Cathedral Latin Lions in a scrimmage on Thursday, August 13.
