Girls Soccer Drops Opener at Manchester
Manchester 6, Louisville 1
The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer team dropped the opener against the host Manchester Panthers 6-1 Saturday Evening.
Brianna Horton headed in the first goal of the game to give the Leopards an early 1-0 advantage. The score came after a corner kick by Hannah Baughman. The same exact scenario with the same two players also produced Louisville’s only goal during their 1-1 tie against Manchester last season.
The Panthers would double the Leopards total before halftime and later netted 4 more goals in the second half. Morgan Starcher led Manchester with a Hat Trick. The Panthers held the advantage in shots on goal 14-8 and in corner kicks 5-3.
Ali Bourne had 3 saves and Celia Keefe finished with 4 saves in goal for Louisville. The Leopards are now 2-2-1 agains the Panthers all-time with a 1-2-0 record at Manchester. When combining all five meetings, the two squads are tied in goals scored at 13-13.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks on Monday, August 24 starting at 7:00 PM at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
