Girls Golf Places Third at Tri-County Preseason Tournament

Louisville – 377 (3rd Out of 20)

The Louisville Leopards Girls Golf Team opened up the 2016 season with a third place finish out of 20 Beatty's Sports Louisville Ohio Leopards Athletics White Shirtteams at the Tri-County Preseason Tournament Tuesday. Louisville shot 377 as a team in the 18-hole tournament on their new home course of Pleasant View Golf Club.

Sierra Townsend placed fourth individually to make the Tournament’s 1st Team. Townsend shot a team best 85 to lead the Leopards. Abby Beaver also made the Tournament’s 2nd Team after carding a 92 for Louisville.

Also scoring for the Lady Leopards were Alexis Beaver 99 and Sara Centore 101. Rounding out the Varsity Squad was Jess Risher 109 and Karli Redinger 121.

The brutal heat took its tool and wore down the teams throughout the tournament. That, along with the nerves of the new season, resulted in scores that were higher than normal.

Beaver Local won the tournament with a team stroke tally of 371. Dover placed second with 376, only Order Leopard Nation Highlight Videoone stroke ahead of Louisville. The Leopards shot 17 strokes better than the next best NBC school Marlington who shot 394.

Louisville will open up regular season and NBC play Thursday when they host Lake and Minerva at Pleasant View.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Lake Blue Streaks and Minerva Lions in a tri-meet at Pleasant View Golf Club on Thursday, August 11 at 12:00 PM.
