The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team edged the host Lake Blue Streaks 40-38 Beatty's Property of Louisville SweatshirtTuesday Evening at Lake High School. With the victory, Louisville evens their record at 1-1 on the season.

Sabryna Benzel led the Lady Leopards with a team-high 13 points. Sarah Lairson also scored 8 of her 12 points in the second half and Alexa Oberster scored 8.

Louisville trailed Lake 9-4 after the first eight minutes, but used a 16-10 second quarter to go into the half up 20-19. The Lady Leopards would Order Leopard Nation Highlight Videomaintain their lead at 29-27 at the end of three and pull ahead to 40-32 in the fourth. Lake would get no closer than 40-38 as the final buzzer sounded.

The Blue Streaks were led by Brandie Snow who hit home 3 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 19 points. Taylor Champagne and Cami Leising also added 5 each for Lake.

This was the 40th all-time meeting between Louisville and Lake in Girls Basketball. The Leopards now lead the all-time series 23-17, which includes an 11-9 mark on the road. Louisville has won the last two meetings overall and this is their first win at Lake since they beat the Blue Streaks 59-44 back on December 2, 2009.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Salem Quakers on Saturday, November 28. JV will begin at 12:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 1:30 PM.

The Lady Leopards JV Squad picked up their first win of the year by demolishing the host Blue Streaks Order Leopard Nation Highlight Video54-20. With the victory, Louisville is now 1-1 on the season.

Alexis Beaver scored 11 of her game-high 18 points in the second half to lead the Lady Leopards. Erin Hahn also poured in 12 and Morgan Cole reached double digits with 10.

Louisville held Lake to just a single field goal in surmounting a 23-3 halftime lead. The Leopards edged the Blue Streaks 13-12 in the third before rolling to an 18-5 advantage in the fourth quarter to take the contest.

Lake was led by Lizzie DeLeone who scored a team-high 7. McKenzie Hance also dropped in 6 and Hannah Sampson posted 4.
