The Louisville Leopards defeated the host Alliance Aviators 80-65 in a shootout at Harry Fails Beatty's Sports Leopard Winter Hat 1 copyGymnasium Saturday Afternoon. With the victory, Louisville is now 6-6 overall and 4-2 in the NBC.

Sarah Lairson led the Lady Leopards with a team-high 20 points and a game-high 5 steals. Emily Hollifield also dropped in 15 points, Sabryna Benzel scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high 6 rebounds, and Abby Beaver also added 11 points and dished out a game-high 7 assists.

The two teams combined to score 145 points, which is an LHS Girls Basketball record. It eclipsed Canfield’s 74-69 victory over Louisville back on December 12, 2012 that featured 143 points scored. Below are the top five Lady Leopards Girls Basketball games in terms of combined scores:

Alliance (5-8, 0-6) was led by Katelyn Daniels who scored a game-high 21 points and Daijana Johnson who scored 13 points & pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds. Za’Nell Dixon also scored 12 and Tur’quois Smith added 11.

The win by Louisville marks their 500th team victory since their inaugural season of 1974-75. They are now 500-371 (.574) overall. Also, the Lady Leopards have now defeated the Lady Aviators 12 consecutive times and 15 straight times at Alliance. Louisville now leads the all-time series 35-8 which includes an 18-3 record at AHS.

The Lady Leopards dropped a 36-32 affair with the Lady Aviators in the JV Game Saturday. With the loss, Louisville is now 2-10 overall and 1-5 against conference foes.

Hailey Miller and Rachel Israel led the Leopards with 7 points and 1 three-pointer each. Katie Hollifield also buried a three and finished with 5.

Louisville led 17-10 at halftime, but Alliance rallied with a 26-15 second half advantage to take the game. Zaire Dixon led the Aviators with a game-high 14 points. Morgan Davis also scored 11 and Keterra Jones added 9.
