Louisville Leopards at GlenOak Golden Eagles Girls Basketball 2014 Video Highlights

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Basketball team fell to the host GlenOak Golden Eagles 57-34 in the season opener Saturday Afternoon.

Louisville was led by Sabryna Benzel and Sarah Lairson who scored a team-high 8 points each. Alexa Oberster also scored 7 points for the Lady Leopards.

The Leopards trailed the Eagles 14-7 late in the first quarter, but scored the final Beatty's Sports I love Footballfive points of the period to cut the deficit to 14-12. Grace Jackson hit a three-pointer seconds before the buzzer rang.

The Golden Eagles used a 23-2 second quarter advantage to take away the Lady Leopards momentum and take complete command of the contest. GlenOak was led by DaiShona Polk who dropped in a game-high 17 points and Rachel McNew who added 12.

With the loss, Louisville is now 23-26 against GlenOak All-Time which includes an 11-14 record on the road. in the series. The Golden Eagles have won the last two meetings overall in the All-Time Series.

The Lady Leopards JV Squad trailed 20-15 at halftime and 21-19 at the end of three quarters. However, they rallied to outscored the host Golden Eagles 16-7 in the final period to take the contest 35-28.

Madison Fomich led Louisville with 12 points. While Fomich anchored the Leopards in the first three quarters, it was Katie Hollifield who finished with 6 points and Hailey Miller who added 5 that took over in the final seven minutes. Both girls scored all of their combined 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Lady Leopards improved to 1-0.
