Girls Back-to-Back Champs, Boys Take 2nd at NBC Track Meet

Louisville Leopards Girls Track NBC Champions 2015

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Track Teams concluded conference competition in the NBC League Meet at Canton South’s Clyde Brechbuhler Stadium Friday.

Boys: Louisville 109 (2nd)

The Louisville Boys team scored 109 points to place second at the NBC Meet and finish second in the overall conference standings for the year. They were only outdone by the West Branch Warriors who went undefeated in the Regular Season and won the NBC Meet with 115 total points.

The Leopards dominated in the distance running events. Nick Chaplik (1:58.63) won the 800 Meter Run with Noah Chaplik taking a close second. Ben Tornow (4:30.10) was the champion of the 1600 Meter Run, while Seth Gronow placed third. Noah Chaplik (10:09.59) also won the 3200 Meter Run with Zach Fresenko finishing right behind in second place. To cap it off, the 4×800 Meter Relay team of Nick Chaplik, Noah Chaplik, Noah Murray, and Fresenko won their race with a time of 8:20.54.

Other highlights for the Boys included Walter Schrock taking third in the 100 Meter Dash and Terry Gooch placing third in the Discus Throw.

NBC Track and Field Meet 2015 – Full Results

Girls: Louisville 106.5 (1st)

The Louisville Girls team scored 106.5 points to capture first place at the NBC Meet. They also finished Beatty's Sports Long Sleeved Leopard Nationtheir regular season conference schedule a perfect 7-0 to claim the overall league title outright. The Lady Leopards have now won 7 NBC Titles in the past 8 seasons of competition. Minerva took a distant second place with 93 points.

Individual Champions included Devin Kring in the 300 Meter Hurdles (47.69) and Hailey Miller in the High Jump (5-00.00). Both girls were a part of the 4×200 Relay (Adrianna Beaver, Miller, Alexis Shearer, Kring) and 4×400 Meter Relay (Abbey Anderson, Heather Guiley, Miller, Kring) teams that placed first as well. The 4×200 team finished with a time of 1:47.47 and the 4×400 Meter Relay team finished with a time of 4:14.42.

Other Lady Leopards highlights included Brynn Guist placing third in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Miller taking third in the 400 Meter Dash, and Shearer finishing third in the 200 Meter Dash.
