Freshman Basketball Wins Tournament Title, Now 50-0 Against NBC
Championship: Louisville 35, West Branch 31
The Leopards defeated the West Branch Warriors in the Freshman Boys Basketball Tournament Championship Saturday. With the 35-31 victory, the Class of 2016 is now 50-0 all-time against NBC Foes going back to 7th Grade basketball.
Kyle Ashcraft led the Leopards with 14 points and Anthony Vernier added 6. Louisville jumped out to an 
early 7-2 advantage, but West Branch narrowed the gap to 11-9 at the end of the first. The Warriors outscored the Leopards 9-7 in the second quarter to leave the game tied at 18-18 at halftime.
The turning point came in the third quarter when Louisville outscored West Branch 15-10 to take a 33-28 lead into the final quarter. In the final seven minutes, the Leps did not score a single field goal. However, their defense held the Warriors to just 3 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Brock Haren and Jarett Heater each added 5 for the Leps who finish the season 18-3 overall. The Leopard Freshman squad was presented with 50-0 NBC hats and the Tournament Championship Trophy.

Kyle Ashcraft led the Leopards with 14 points and Matt Eddins added 9 to lead Louisville past Carrollton 42-38 in the opening round of the Freshman Tournament game at West Branch High School back on Monday, February 4.
The Warriors led the Leopards 19-17 at halftime, but Louisville outscored Carrollton 14-10 in the third and 11-9 in the fourth to take the contest.
Nick Harsh also scored 6 and Brock Haren dropped in 5 for the Leps.
