The Louisville Leopards Varsity Football team battled in the annual Intersquad scrimmage Saturday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. The Blue Squad and White Squad tied 2-2.

Runningback Rahzul Young scored the first touchdown in the full regular scrimmage action on a 5 yard Beatty's Football Shirt 2015hard-hitting run down the left sideline for the White Squad. The score was setup by a 40 yard completion from Quarterback Jake Adams to Receiver Conner Bast on the play before.

The Blue Squad did not answer until the final play of the full scrimmage when Quarterback Brody Hahn scored from a yard out. The drive started off with an 11 yard completion from Hahn to Cody Allgood to the White 37. Then Runningback Dalton Deckerd ran for back-to-back first downs netting a combined 23 yards to put the Blue Squad in the redzone. Five plays later the game was knotted at 1-1.

In the overtime session, Tanner Brahler’s sack on fourth down held the Blue Squad scoreless. The ensuing White Squad’s possession ended with Adams scoring from 3 yards out after faking a hand-off to Young.

In the goal to go scenarios, the Blue Squad wasted no time in tying the scrimmage at 2-2. Hahn took the snap, put two nasty spin moves on the defense, and powered his way for the final yard for his second touchdown run of the night. Th White Squad also scrimmaged one play in goal to go, but the Blue Squad stuffed them short of the goal line. Justin Warren delivered the first hit in the stop.

Earlier in the contest the Blue Squad held strong during a goal line stand to keep the score 1-0 in favor of the White Squad. After 3 plays netting just 4 yards, Frank Falcone and Chase Lautzenheiser denied the White Squad for no gain to force a turnover on downs at the Blue 1.

Brock Haren led all defensive efforts with 2 interceptions for the White Team and also leaped for a 29 yard reception early on in the game. Gavin Birone also had a pick for the White Squad and Stephen Kerzan had the only interception for the Blue Team.

The scrimmage officially ended courtesy of Kicker Trevor Burk’s 26 yard field goal. The successful kick spared the team from additional running and as a result Burk was mobbed in the center of the field.
