DI Massillon District Softball Tournament Bracket & Schedule 2015

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Softball Team drew the 7th Seed in Sunday’s DI Massillon District Tournament Draw. They will host the #8 Seed Marietta Tigers in the DI Massillon Sectional Semifinals on Thursday, May 14 at 4:30 PM.

The Tigers are 4-13 on the season and have no opponents in common with the Leopards. Louisville defeated Marietta 3-1 in the DI Massillon Sectional Semifinals at LHS back on May 3, 2006. This is the only meeting between the two squads in their history.

If the Lady Leopards win, they will travel to GlenOak to take on the Golden Eagles on on Friday, May 15 at 4:30 PM in the Sectional Finals. Louisville and GlenOak split a double header earlier this season on April 18 with the Golden Eagles shutting out the Leopards in the first game 6-0 and Louisville forcing a split with an 8-3 victory in the second game. The two squads have met three times in the postseason with GlenOak holding a 2-1 edge in tournament games. The Lady Leopards won the last tournament meeting 10-0 back on May 15, 2010 by a count of 10-0 in 6 Innings in the DI Massillon Sectional Finals. GlenOak leads the all-time series 19-12, but Louisville has won 6 of their past 7 match-ups against each other.

If the Leopards advance to Districts for the sixth straight season, they will likely face #2 Seed Green or #4 Seed North Canton Hoover. Louisville has defeated the Bulldogs in each of the past three Sectional Tournament Finals, while the Leopards have fallen to the Vikings in their last two District Tournament Games.

Louisville is 28-30 all-time in tournament play, which includes a 9-8 record since entering Division I in 2006. The Lady Leopards are 16-4 all-time in home tournament games, but are 8-14 on the road and 4-12 in neutral settings.
