DI Canton District Girls Basketball Seed Voting Matrix 2017
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team finds themselves in the same position as they did a year ago. Just like in 2016, the Lady Leopards have drawn the 6th Seed for the DI Canton District Girls Basketball Tournament. The official Tournament Draw will take place tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
The Lady Leopards received 57 votes in the initial tally and finished with 46 points after maximum/minimum extremes were removed from the total. There was not much fluctuation between the opposition’s voting. Lowest Seeded Akron Garfield and Top Seeded GlenOak each paid Louisville the most respect in voting them the 5th Seed. Ironically, the Lady Leopards lowest seed rank came from the Lake Blue Streaks who voted them as the 8th Seed. Louisville defeated Lake 56-35 back on December 3.

All 10 opponents voted GlenOak the #1 Seed to give them the maximum 88 points. The Leopards fell to the Golden Eagles 81-33 back in the season opener on November 25. Canton McKinley, who has earned the #1 seed many 
times recently in this tournament, will be playing in the DI Akron District. This is because this year’s tournament will be played on their home court at the Canton Memorial Field House. The OHSAA does not allow for host schools to play at the District Tournament level.
Louisville has only played three of these DI Canton District opponents this season and holds a 1-2 record against them. Along with the split against Federal League foes, the Leopards also fell to Massillon 50-40 back on December 6. The Tigers were voted the 5th seed.
The top four seeds all come from the Federal League. They include: #1 GlenOak, #2 North Canton Hoover, #3 Jackson, and #4 Perry. Below you can view the seed order and the voting Matrix.
