DI Canton District Baseball Seed Voting Matrix 2016

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team drew the 10th seed for Sunday’s DI Canton District Tournament draw after the initial votes were tallied and released on Saturday. However, both Green and Perry did not submit their votes which could shake things up come Sunday.

Louisville (9-11) will be playing with a chip on their shoulder as four teams voted them the lowest 11th seed and four others voted them the 10th seed. Only Canton McKinley (6-13) finished below the Leopards with 5 last place votes.

The vote for the top seed was unanimous as Jackson received the top vote from all 8 teams that voted. Dover took the 2nd seed with 51 points, North Canton Hoover took the 3rd seed with 46 points, and just behind them was a tie for the 4th seed between Massillon and Wooster with 45 points each. Seeds 3-5 could completely change tomorrow when Green and Perry submit their votes.

Louisville is 2-3 so far this season against other teams in the District. They defeated #2 Seed Dover 2-1 on opening day and also won at #8 Seed Green 10-5. The Leopards recently lost a slugfest with #6 Seed Lake 15-14 and were swept earlier in the season by #7 Seed GlenOak 8-1 and 11-3. Louisville also tied Massillon 3-3 in an 8-inning scrimmage during the preseason.

The Leopards will be facing three more District Teams before the Regular Season ends. They will first travel to Jackson to take on the top seeded Polar Bears on Monday, May 2 for a 7:00 PM night game. They will also host #3 Seed North Canton Hoover on Monday, May 9 and travel to #9 Seed Perry on Saturday, May 14 in another nightcap.
