COMPLETE TURNAROUND! Freshman Massacre Marlington!

VIDEO:

Louisville 47, Marlington 20

Fresh being routed 45-0 at North Canton last week, the Leopards Freshman football was sure happy to put the past two weeks behind them.  The Leopards came out firing scoring 40 points in the first half before cruising to a 47-20 win over Marlington at Louisville Leopards Stadium Thursday evening.

With the score already 14-0, Walter Shrock ran in two more touchdowns to make the score 28-6 Leopards with 7:23 left in the first half.  Later a 57-yard run by Shrock set the Leopards up inside the Marlington 5-yard-line.  Marco Buccasso took care of the rest scoring from 3 yards out to give Louisville a 34-12 advantage.

On the Dukes next possession the Louisville defense was merciless setting up a 4th-and-37 deep into Marlington territory.  The Leopards blocked the ensuing punt, and Buccasso appeared to have scored a touchdown, but the refs spotted the ball at the 1-yard-line.  No biggie…Connor Zwick punched it in from 36 inches out to give the Leps a solid 40-12 lead that they would take into the break.

In the second half, Louisville successfully milked the clock away scoring once on a 10-yard touchdown run by Zwick, but the fat lady at sung far before that.

Marlington’s first two lightning touchdowns came off a 91-yard run and a 67-yard pass.  Their final touchdown was scored in garbage time from 24 yards away.  These two teams will reunite to do battle again at high noon on Saturday, September 17.

UP NEXT: The Leps will play Marlington again, but on the road this time on Saturday, September 17 at 12:00 PM.  They will follow the JV game.
