Louisville 28, Canton South 7

Brian Beatty carried the ball 23 times for 143 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Louisville Leopards past the Canton South Wildcats 28-7 back on October 9, 1992.

The Leopards racked up 214 yards of offense (111 rushing, 103 passing) and converted 6 of 8 third down conversions in the first half in taking a 21-0 lead into the break. Beatty scored on a 1 Beatty's Sports Spring Sports 2013yard run and Quarterback Jon Aljancic threw two touchdown passes. A 5 play, 51 yard march ended with Aljancic finding Jason Dossi wide open in the endzone for a 27 yard touchdown reception. Later on, a 63 yard drive ended with an 8 yard touchdown pass from Aljancic to Bob Burick. Aljancic finished the night completing 9 of 19 passes for 105 yards.

The Wildcats seized some momentum in the third quarter as runningback Chris Williams ran for 64 yards on a 10 play, 71 yard drive. The drive ended with Larry Slutz running the ball in from 2 yards out to cut the deficit to 21-7.

The Cats defense came alive and stopped the Leopards on their next drive. However, Canton South fumbled on the ensuing possession and Louisville’s Joe Case, who had left the game earlier from an injury, recovered it. The Leopards won the momentum back and shutout Canton South for the remainder of the contest. Chris Menegay also ran in a 1 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to finalize the score at 28-7.

With the victory South fell to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the NBC, while Louisville improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the NBC.
