Boys Tennis Edges Marlington, Perfect at NBC Midway Mark

The Louisville Leopards Boys Tennis Team edged the visiting Marlington Dukes 3-2 Thursday Evening at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 8-1 overall and remains a perfect 5-0 at the midway point of the NBC schedule.
The Leopards Jake Pukys dominated in #1 Singles earning a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory. However, Louisville would surrender the other two Singles matches to the Dukes Stephen Kinney and Jovi Dezo Cortina.
It all came down to the Doubles matches to determine the outcome. Alex Hall & Kyle Robinson won #1 Singles 7-5, 6-1. The #2 Singles match came down to a tie breaker in the second set, but Louisville’s Asa Herron & Zach Eddins prevailed 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
This was the 70th meeting between the two schools with the Leopards now leading the all-time series 65-5. Louisville has now won 11 straight over Marlington overall and five straight contests over the Dukes at home.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Lake to take on the Blue Streaks on Friday, April 15 at 4:00 PM. JV will be home at the same time.
