Boys Soccer Ties Marlington, Both Remain Atop NBC
Louisville 1, Marlington 1
The Louisville Leopards tied the host Marlington Dukes 1-1 at the Marlington Soccer Stadium Tuesday Night. With the tie, Louisville is now 4-2-1 on the season overall and remains tied for first place in the NBC with Marlington as each now have a 2-0-1 conference record.
After a stalemate in the first half, Mitch Perez broke the ice early on in the second half. Perez found the net with 38:04 left via an assist from Derek Zeller to give the Leopards a 1-0 lead.
The two teams continued in a defensive battle for the next 13 minutes before fireworks broke out. At the 24:33 mark of the second half one player on each team received a red card setting up a 10 on 10 matchup the rest of the way.

The Dukes would knot the game back up with 8:40 left when Daniel Halverstadt scored the game-tying goal. Neither team scored the rest of the way to preserve the tie as both teams remain undefeated and atop the NBC Standings. Both teams leave Tuesday Night still controlling their own destiny.
The tie snaps the Leopards 8-game skid in the series against the Dukes overall. This is also the first time in 11 tries that Louisville has come away from Marlington without a loss. The Leopards are now 1-17-3 against the Dukes all-time, which includes a 0-10-1 mark at Marlington.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Lake Blue Streaks on Saturday, September 17 at 11:00 AM.
