Boys Golf Takes Ahold of 1st After Defeating Unbeaten Warriors
Louisville 163, Carrollton 165
The host Louisville Leopards Boys Golf team edged the previously unbeaten Carrollton Warriors 163-165 at Skyland Pines Golf Club Tuesday. With the victory, Louisville improves to 9-1 overall and moves into first place in the NBC with an 8-1 mark.
Dan Duplain and Nick Fawver led the way for the Leopards as each scored a team low of 40. Matt Eddins who shot a 41 and Mac Hanson who finished with a 42 were not far behind in giving Louisville the needed stroke total to defeat Carrollton.
The Leopards have now defeated the Warriors in back-to-back meetings after Carrollton won the previous seven matches before that. The Warriors are now a half game back of the Leopards in the standings at 7-1 in the NBC. The two teams will meet again on September 10 at Carroll Meadows.
WARRIORS SCORES: Pozderac 39, Fairclough 41, Barto 41, Shuman 44. TEAM TOTAL = 165.
LEOPARDS SCORES: Dan Duplain 40, Nick Fawver 40, Matt Eddins 41, Mac Hanson 42. TEAM TOTAL = 163.
