Louisville 168, Alliance 180

Ryan Shepherd shot a 39 to lead the Leopards past the Alliance Aviators 168-180 for their first victory of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Skyland Pines Golf Course.  Louisville is now 15-0 against Alliance since the Aviators entered the NBC back in 2005.  Although they are incomplete, our records show that Alliance has not beaten Louisville since September 15, 1997.

Patrick Wilson (42), Heath Williams (43), and Nick Fawver (44) rounded out the scoring for the host Leopards.  The win also snaps a six game losing streak for Louisville Boys Golf dating back to last year.  They will next participate in the Gran Invitational on Friday, August 17 at Hartville’s Seven Hills.

NOTE: Originally we reported the final score 177-180.  However, Alliance only had a total of 8 players on their combined Varsity & JV Roster.  Therefore both coaches decided to contest the Varsity Match using all 8 players and taking the 4 lowest scores towards the team score.  As luck would have it, the 2 Louisville JV players that played yesterday shot lower scores than their varsity counterparts.  All the same, the Leopards won!

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete in the Gran Invitational at Seven Hills Golf Course in Hartville on Friday, August 17 at 8:00 AM.  The JV Squad will next compete in the Lake Tournament at Sable Creek on Thursday, August 16 at 7:30 AM.
