Boys Freshman Basketball Completes Sweep of Salem

The Louisville Leopards Boys Freshman Basketball Team completed a season sweep of the host Salem Quakers with a 44-35 victory at John A. Cabas Gymnasium Monday. With the victory, Louisville improves to 8-2 overall and 8-0 against the NBC.
Spencer Hall scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Leopards. Cameron King also added 9 and Kaleb McCartney hit home 2 three-pointers to finish with 6 for Louisville.
The Quakers actually made more free throws than the Leopards, but the difference in the game came at the charity stride. Salem committed 25 fouls compared to Louisville’s 17. As a result, the Leopards hit 14 of 31 (45%) free throws and the Quakers only benefited from 4 of 8 (50%) performance at the line.
Salem (8-2, 6-2) was led by Josh Lehwald who made 3 three-pointers and finished with a team-high 13 points. Turner Johnson also scored 6 and Luke Weingart scored 5 for the Quakers.
