Boys Cross Country Blows Past Competition at OHSAA Early
Louisville – 67 (1st out of 23)
The Louisville Leopards Boys Cross Country team blew by their competition in the OHSAA Early Season Invitational at National Trail Raceway Saturday. The Boys finished with a team total of 67 and placed 1st out of 23 teams in their Section F Race. This was good enough to eclipse second place Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (97) by 30 total places.
Noah Chaplik (16:36.04) placed 2nd individually and Ben Tornow (16:42.35) took 3rd for the Leopards.The Irish’s Joe Rossetti won the Section F race with a time of 16:32.29. Also placing for Louisville were Zach Fresenko (11th), Nick Chaplik (19th), and Jacob Milburn (32nd).
Other Section Winners included St. Ignatius (1:22:51.14), Maplewood (1:26:42.14), Lincolnview (1:29:05.33), Mason (1:29:16.80). Louisville finished with a team total time of 1:25.27.52. While meets are not scored this way, if we placed the Leopards in the Section B race with St. Ignatius and other top contenders they would have taken 6th place overall.

The Minerva Boys team also competed in the Section F race and finished 17th with a team total of 392 (1:35:22.69). The Carrollton Boys team finished 8th in the Section D race with a team total of 250 (1:38:15.18)
The Lions and Warriors Girls squads both competed in the Section E race as well. Carrollton took 10th with a team total of 315 (1:52:46.67) and Minerva placed 22nd with a team total of 591 (2:06:36.58). There were 25 teams competing in the Section E race.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the Golden Eagle Invitational at GlenOak High School on Saturday, August 23. The Schedule is as follows: Varsity Boys 9:30, Varsity Girls 10:10, JV/Boys Open 10:50, JV/Girls Open 11:30, Middle School Boys 12:15, Middle School Girls 12:45.
