Boys Basketball To Host Fitch/Roosevelt Winner in Section on Feb. 27

The Louisville Leopards drew the 4th Seed in the DI Alliance District Boys Basketball Tournament Draw Beatty's White Under Armor Hoodie Louisville Leopards 2015and have earned a bye in the first round. Louisville will host the winner of #9 Kent Roosevelt at #6 Austintown Fitch in the DI Alliance Sectional Finals on Saturday, February 27 at 7:00 PM.

#2 Seed Copley and #3 Seed Lake chose to take the side of the bracket opposite of top seeded Warren Harding, The Leopards elected to take the bye on the Raiders side of the bracket.

Louisville will be looking to win their first Sectional Title since 2007. If they do, the Leopards will likely face Warren in the District Semifinals on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:00 PM at Alliance High School.

According to all known records, Louisville Basketball is 49-79 in tournament play since 1932 with a 1-1 postseason record at LHS (both home games last season).

Louisville Vs. Austintown Fitch Matchup

The Leopards are currently 15-4 on the season, while the Falcons are 12-6 through 18 games this year. Order Leopard Nation Highlight VideoBoardman is the only common foe between the two squads and both played the Spartans on their home court. Louisville upended Boardman 81-42 back on January 16, while Fitch edged the Spartans 63-60 just three days later on January 19.

While the Leopards and Falcons met on the gridiron this past Fall, they have never before met on the hardwood in a regular season or tournament game. The two squads did play a preseason preview back on November 26, 2008 at Fitch. The Leopards won that matchup 67-64.

Louisville Vs. Kent Roosevelt Matchup

The Rough Riders are currently 5-13 on the year. Kent Roosevelt does not have any common opponents with Louisville this season.

The two schools have met 6 times on the basketball floor in their history, but their last meeting was 64 years ago. The Leopards beat the Rough Riders 82-53 back on January 19, 1952. The win was Louisville’s third straight over Kent in as many seasons and the all-time series is tied 3-3.
