Boys Basketball Continues to Roll After Win at West Branch

The Louisville Leopards earned a convincing 66-46 win over the host West Branch Warriors Friday evening at WBHS. With the victory, Louisville improves to 11-2 overall and remains a perfect 8-0 in conference play.
Blake Hoover finished with a game-high 25 points and a game-high 11 boards to lead the Leopards. Drew Noble also recorded a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Two Towers also led the defense with 4 blocks a piece.
Hoover scored the first 8 Louisville points on the contest and dropped in 14 in the first half. The Leopards held a 30-21 advantage at the break and then outscored their opposition 27-11 in the third quarter to put away the game.
Louisville shot 7 of 15 (47%) from beyond the arch led by Joe Crank and Jake Pukys who canned 2 three-pointers each. The Leopards shot 26 of 57 (46%) from the floor compared to the Warriors 15 of 45 (33%) performance. Louisville also won the battle under the glass 32-20.
West Branch rallied to tie the game at 13-13 at the end of the first quarter. Jarian Thomas hit a three-pointer from the top of the key just before the buzzer sounded. Thomas would go on to score a team-high 19 points and Matt Meiter also added 11.
The Leopards have now won 5 straight against the Warriors including the last 3 at West Branch. Louisville now leads the all-time series 51-24.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Salem to take on the Quakers on Tuesday, January 27. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
