SOFTBALL

Louisville 14, Canton South 0

As they have to opponents all season long, the Lady Leopards again put a double-digit 14-0 victory up on the Canton South Wildcats at Amos McDannel School Thursday evening.  Pitcher Brittany Flanigan threw a complete game one-hit shutout and sent down 13 Wildcat hitters.  Her dominant performance was more than enough though as the Louisville offense gave her plenty of support.  After jumping out to a 2-0 first inning lead, Emily Isla and Desi Givens hit back-to-back jacks to right field in the third inning to double the Louisville advantage.  Isla was all over the base paths getting on board with 3 hits, scoring 4 runs, and driving home 2 runs for the game.

In the top of the 6th, Jordan Monnot got in on the long ball action with a 2-run blast putting Louisville up 7-0.   The sixth inning ended and Louisville failed to mercy their opponents for the first time all season.  However, mercy was nowhere to be found in the top of the seventh when the Lady Leps multiplied their edge with 7 runs and batted around the order to build an insurmountable 14-0 advantage.
