Baseball Erupts Early in 11-1 Run-Rule Win Over Quakers
Louisville 11, Salem, 6 Innings
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team broke double digits in the first two innings before rolling 
to an 11-1 run-rule victory over the visiting Salem Quakers Tuesday. With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-12 overall and 7-4 in NBC play.
Tyler Adams batted 2-for-3 with a double, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs scored to lead the Leopards. Dalton Deckerd also went 2-for-2 with an RBI single in the second inning and a walk-off RBI Triple in the sixth inning.
Isaac Mathie had an RBI single to cap off a 4-run Louisville first inning. Stephen Kerzan would also hit a 2-run single to start the scoring in a 6-run Leopards second inning.
Louisville’s bats went silent for the next three innings before they pushed across the game-clinching run 
in the bottom of the sixth. With 2 outs, Tyler Croxton singled to center field and then stole second. Deckerd drove the next pitch to right field bringing in Croxton on a walk-off triple.
On the mound, Jake Adams (4-2) pitched a complete game, gave up 0 earned runs on 5 hits, and struck out 3 to earn the victory for the Leopards. The Quakers only run came in the second inning when Garrett Dickey’s infield single brought in Tony Maniscalco.
Louisville has now defeated Salem in 13 consecutive meetings.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel across town to St. Thomas Aquinas to take on the Knights on Wednesday, May 4 at 5:00 PM. Freshman will also be at North Canton Hoover at the same time.
