11. Girls Tennis Captures NBC Crown
The Girls Tennis team captured their first NBC Title since 2005 and finished their season with a 16-1 overall mark. Coach Rod Hall, in only his second year as the Girls Tennis Coach, led the Lady Leps to an 8-0 record within the conference en route to earning Coach of the Year honors. Katie Blind and Brooke Mathie provided senior leadership and the underclassman stepped up to give Louisville their 12th league title. The final win of the season was 5-0 shutout over Canton South, their 10th shutout of the season. The win also marked the Leopards’ Tennis program’s (boys and girls) 900th win overall!
If your thinking this should be ranked higher on my list, your probably right. Maybe its because of our Girls Tennis teams’ dominance over the years that I have just gotten used to them winning all the time? Another reason may be because of my lack of knowledge in the sport or the fact that this site wasn’t around to cover them in the Fall. Either way these girls dominated and definitely deserve to be on the list!
